Parents of Children with Autism Support Group

The life of a parent can be hectic, overwhelming and often leaves no room for ourselves. If you find that you need support, a moment for your own self-care, a safe place to vent and find release or simply a haven for support and understanding perhaps this is the group for you. If you are a parent of a child with autism, I welcome you to join this support group fostering parent self-care and healing through group work and creative art making. Mommy Time

Calling all mamas who need respite from the chaos of parenting and everyday life. This group will focus on parenting issues and mother self-care through interesting experiential activities, group support and techniques for positive coping methods for anxiety/relaxation. Connecting with my Child on the Spectrum

Calling all moms and dads of children with autism! This private dyad (2-3 person) session is created for the mom/child or dad/child pair to come work with Dr. Rowena. The session will focus on activities that will;

  • boost bonding between parent and child

  • techniques that you can use at home with your child to foster relaxation and positive coping mechanisms

  • strategies on how to maintain fun and active engagement

  • tools to build an overall sense of connection

Sensory Art Experiences for the Child with Autism

This workshop will provide early childhood participants with; research based information on creativity development and sensory input, hands-on practical experience exploring specific art techniques to promote relaxation and positive coping mechanisms for children, and therapeutic arts for the special needs child will be addressed.

Techniques for promoting relaxation and positive coping mechanisms for children with special needs

This workshop will focus on theoretical framework of sensory art materials in the role of childhood development, explore recipes and how to use them in meaningful ways to achieve various goals (stress reduction, building positive coping mechanisms, and increase developmental progress in various domains of socialization and skills building) and also break into participant groups to explore sensory art experiences and role play.

Bringing cohesion and motivation back to the workplace

This workshop stems from the employee perspective of group cohesion and team building.  Through various group activities and discussion, these participants will work on building positive realtionships and cohesive group dynamic within the work setting.
